The Food

We are passionate about creating and serving food that is prepared from scratch, using fresh ingredients sourced from Canadian farms and suppliers. We give back to the communities we serve and we operate in a socially responsible way, benefiting our guests, clients, employees and the environment. Our menus explore the art of food. Bradley our head chef is well versed and able to provide distinctive input for custom menu design.

Yolanda Romanowitch
HEAD CHEF

Yolanda Romanowitch, Head Chef with Jewell Catering of Mississauga, has been a Chef Manager for nearly a decade and a cook for more than two decades.  She is skilled in cooking from scratch as well as menu planning, inventory control, health and safety management, food and labour cost control, staff scheduling and training, assisting in catering and event coordination, and building strong client, customer and vendor relations    At Jewell, she is responsible for all daily kitchen management, including purchasing and receiving, overseeing and training staff, and assisting with menu and event planning.

Prior to joining Jewell, Yolanda served as Chef Manager with Dana Hospitality in Mississauga.  Working with staff to produce exceptional quality meals, she was also responsible for keeping the kitchen running smoothly, overseeing daily product inventory, purchasing and receiving.  She won the Operate the Dana Way Award for her passion for great food, her friendliness and caring and hospitable demeanor, and her strict adherence to Dana Hospitality culinary standards, ensuring safe, sparkling clean operations, and making coming to work fun.  Attracting and maintaining a loyal and growing customer base, while keeping food and labour costs at or below budget year over year, she was also honored with the Dana Hospitality Top Five Award in recognition of her increase in sales.

Yolanda began as a Cook at Dana Hospitality’s Oakville location in Ontario, where for four years she provided her courteous and informative customer service in an open kitchen format, consistently producing exceptional menu items that regularly received customer praise, while always displaying her naturally positive and friendly attitude towards customers as well as fellow employees.

Early in her culinary career, Yolanda worked as a cook at various other restaurants, including The Martini House in Burlington, ON; Jonathan’s of Oakville, ON, and Mye Japanese Restaurant in Oakville.  She also worked at the Alseasons Hospitality Staff Agency in Sydney, Australia.

Experienced in a vast array of modern culinary techniques, Yolanda received her Apprentice Cook Basic and Advanced Training from George Brown College (Toronto), where she was recognized with the school’s Outstanding Achievement Award.  She also holds Red Seal certification, Advanced Food Safety certification, WHMIS training, and First Aid training.
